This week I have learned that what I consume or go through before going to bed keeps on revolving in my head for long. That may be in the conscious or subconscious mind.
You ask What made me say this!
Well, this is what happened last Monday.
I had a minor argument with a friend about something. And then somehow I went to bed to get much-needed sleep. After much tossing and turning, I managed to sleep.
But, when I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the loo, I became aware that the thoughts of quarreling with my friend have gradually started to pick up the pace and torment me again.
I wondered if maybe that’s how some creative artists, musicians, and scientists got their breakthrough lyrics, melodies, and equations.
They must have been constantly thinking about their pursuit, and ambitions all the time. Even in their sleep, their brain is working towards their goals, their passions.
When Thom Yorke from Radiohead was asked in an interview about the strange lyrics in their songs, he replied that he gets them in his dreams.
They must have been constantly thinking about their pursuit, ambition all the time. Even in their sleep, their brain is working towards their goals, their passions.
Bottom Line
So, the life lesson is to consume or think about something soulful and soul-nourishing before going to sleep.
