(14/12) Quorics of the Day
I feel like starting something new from today - Quorics (Quotes from Lyrics). Every now and then, I will share portions of lyrics from some of my favorite songs.
A little background
Music played a huge role in my life - that of a true and real friend. Books too. I can not overemphasize their importance enough.
Obviously, the beat, the tune, the hymn, the rhythm is something that hooks us and is pleasing to our ears but it is the lyrics that we most connect with. There have been such great, jaw-dropping songs written both in English and Hindi that you can not express or convey how they made you feel.
Some songs speak to you on so many levels. And sometimes when you listen to a song on the radio or television accidentally and you exclaim "What a coincidence! I needed to hear this song so desperately". This had happened to me many a time. And you can only thank God or Existence for it.
Today's Clippings
In this first edition, I wrote some quotes from the lyrics of random songs that were playing in my head. Each song evokes a special, unique, strange feeling in me.
All these songs are like good friends to me. Hope you would relate to some of these.
Love alone is worth the fight
This is a song by one of my favorite bands of all time, Switchfoot.
Money, Land, Power, Fame, Success - Nothing is worth the fight. Love alone is worth the fight.
The shadow proves the sunshine
This is yet another gem of a song by Switchfoot. Only these four words convey a lot!
When life leaves us blind, love keeps us kind
This is a quoric from the song The Messenger from the album A Thousand Suns (the first album that I bought with my pocket money way back in 2010) by Linkin Park.
Almost all of us can agree on this quoric.
What if you had it all but nobody to call?
I used to laugh Bieber off. But after listening to this song accidentally, I realized there is so much more to him than meets the eye.
What will you do with all your riches if you had no one to talk to or share your happiness with.
Just because I'm losing doesn't mean I'm lost, doesn't mean I'll stop
This is a song by one of the greatest bands of all time, Coldplay, from their Grammy-winning album Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends. Such poignant lyrics it has that you can only listen and marvel.
Before the truth will set you free, it'll piss you off
Mantra is a song by Bring Me The Horizon band from their Grammy-nominated album Amo.
This quoric is hard-hitting but so true. We are so firmly attached to our long-held beliefs, mostly fed by society and the defunct education system, that the truth will have to overcome a strong-resistant wall built by people before it can set them free.
