Why do People Think Flying is an Illness?
This is the irony of the human condition that people have wings but they think flying is an illness. Why is it like that?
This is the irony of the human condition that people have wings but they think flying is an illness. Why is it like that?
Because they have been caged for ages? Because they have been conditioned like this?
But why caged? Because it is safe inside?
But why is there so much emphasis on comfort and safety?
And those who follow their hearts and reject conventional wisdom are considered outcasts or 'abnormal' by society.
He said,
"I was mostly insane but with in between bouts of intolerable sanity"
Why?
Just because they don't want to tow your line they are abnormal?
How foolish of you!
We were not born with the herd mentality. We were conditioned. It is all your fault!
But it is our own responsibility to get disillusioned and unlearn and let go of the baggage. No one else is obliged or supposed to do this job for us. We are our own makers.
There is no point in blaming the circumstances, the society, or the parents. The responsibility is totally ours and only ours.
My take
I have a strong belief that if we follow our unique path, which might be 'risky' in conventional terms, God will take care of our nourishment and safety. Though not immediately but eventually.
So, we should not think of 'flying' as an illness. If God has given us 'wings' then we must make the best use of it.
This is one of many famous quotes from Dr. Abraham Maslow, the father of Humanistic Psychology, who is renowned for his Hierarchy of Needs and Self Actualization theories:
What we can be, we must be.
What are your thoughts on this?
- Why do we think flying is an illness?
- Why is there so much emphasis on comfort, safety, and security?
- Do you think God will take care of us if we walk on our unique path?
